ROOM EXHIBIT
2018 / INTERACTION DESIGN

ROOM EXHIBIT is an interactive 360° virtual reality experience that allows the user to discover different museums from the whole world and lets them explore their fascinating rooms and spaces.

ROOM EXHIBIT was built with the VR web framework A-Frame and uses material from Google Arts & Culture.

Clicking on the different artwork and objects in the digital “exhibition” brings the user to a 360° image version of the actual exhibition room the clicked object can be found at.

The goal of ROOM EXHIBIT was to capture the excitement of visiting a museum in person and exploring their exhibition architectures. It gives a little more insight to the museums than internet searches or simple guides could provide. To make it an exhibition of museums, the 20 museums that can be explored were selected based on variety and diversity, going from different countries to different themes like science, art or history.

Inside the virtual museums the user can explore the room and inform themselves with a digital signboard. Unlike real signboards this digital one can be placed in any kind of position in the room, including places like the floor and ceiling, to encourage the user to look around properly and discover interesting things.
